A new site . . .

What is "NGO global village"?
Expo 2005 Aichi, the first exposition of the 21st century, emphasizes the participation of "citizens" including "NPOs/NGOs" in addition to the more traditional "nations" and "companies." Participants were selected from domestic and global NPOs and NGOs. At the Expo, their approaches to solving environmental problems, international collaboration, sustainability, and other global tasks will be presented to the world.

Domestic and global NPOs and NGOs will cooperate under the concept of "Learning for Sustainability." Each month for six months, there will be five exhibitions presented by 30 units of the 100 groups. Each unit is preparing "Participatory Learning Programs" and participation-type experiences. Our goal is to give you the opportunity to communicate with people from around the world. Also, we have created the "Discovery Place" where you can find out what individuals can do, through our exhibitions and workshops.

The Saving Mothers' Lives Hall held a Mothers' Day event, which had many, many visitors.

The Orientation Zone includes the Earth Dreaming Theater with its large, dome-shaped "sky screen," the Global Citizen Declaration corner, information on the participating NPOs/NGOs, sponsors and other participant groups' approaches toward a sustainable society.
In the Experience and Exchange Zone, NPOs and NGOs will be presenting exhibitions and experience-type workshops in five pavilions. In the Outdoor Plaza, song and dance performances, talks & concerts with guests, film shows, and symposiums will be held. You can also enjoy food in the "Natural Food Cafe."
